- How do I use the password generator?
- Set the length with the slider (8 to 64 characters), tick which character sets to include (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols), then press Generate. You can create up to 50 passwords at once and copy any single one or all of them with the copy buttons.
- What does this tool do?
- It builds strong, random passwords entirely in your browser using the sets you enable. Nothing you generate is sent anywhere or saved.
- Why should I use a random generator instead of making up a password?
- Human-chosen passwords tend to follow predictable patterns that attackers exploit, while random ones maximize entropy for a given length. Longer passwords with more character types are far harder to guess or brute-force.
- What does the strength rating mean and how do I improve it?
- The rating (weak, fair, strong, very strong) estimates entropy from the length and number of character sets you selected. To move it up, increase the length and enable more sets such as symbols and numbers.
- What does the 'exclude ambiguous characters' option do?
- It removes easily confused characters (0, O, 1, l, I) from the pool so passwords are easier to read and type by hand. This slightly shrinks the character set, so add a little length if you want to keep the same strength.
