ServerRecords

Privacy Policy

ServerRecords does not require an account and does not store your lookups on our servers. Each look up is performed on demand and the result is returned directly to your browser.

What we send to third parties

To answer a look up, the domain or IP address you enter is sent to the relevant public DNS resolvers, a DNS-over-HTTPS service (for DNSSEC-family records), DNS blacklist (DNSBL) providers, the RDAP registration data service, and — for HTTP, security-header, SMTP and similar checks — directly to the server that hosts the domain you entered. This is how these look ups fundamentally work, and is unavoidable for the tool to function.

Local storage & the History panel

If you accept local storage from the cookie notice, your recent lookups (the query, look up type, and results) are saved in your browser's local storage so the History panel can show them again later. This data stays on your device — it is never sent to us. You can clear it at any time using the "Clear" button in the History panel, or by rejecting consent (via "Manage cookie preferences" in the footer), which also removes anything already stored.

Cookies & tracking

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not run any third-party analytics on this site.

Rate limiting

To keep the service available to everyone, requests are rate-limited per IP address. No personal data is retained from this process beyond the short window needed to enforce the limit.
